Community Outreach

Students at LCA participate in the Community Outreach, an Ontario-wide initiative of the Ontario Alliance of Christian Schools involving about 80 schools in Ontario.  Its goal is to help bring peace and share the love of Christ not just to immediate neighbours, but to the greater community as well.

LCA students are given hands-on, practical experience in being good citizens in the community.  Last year our grade 7 and 8 classes collected over 3000 non-perishable food items to donate to the London and Area Food Bank, and this year, with all grades participating, our school gathered over 4000lbs of food to help those less fortunate this Christmas season.

There are so many ways to show the peace and love of Christ - last year the Grade 4-6 classes delivered Easter cards to our neighbours on Charles Street, and recently, grades 1 to 3 visited our neighbours behind us at Riverside Retirement Home, sharing Thanksgiving cards and enjoying fellowship together. At Christmas, the LCA choir will return to Riverside to share the good news of the season in song with our new friends. We also help our children to look beyond their neighbourhood with Mosaic Church’s Community Toy Drive in London helping Refugee Families.  The students also sponsor children through Compassion Canada and enjoy regular correspondence with them.

We help children know the joy and satisfaction of helping others, of reaching out and being lights in our world.
