Lorri grew up in Toronto, Ontario and through the influence of her parents and church, trusted Christ as her Savious at the young age of five. Upon graduating from high school, she attended Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, New York, taking a one-year Bible diploma. It was there, through the youth ministry on the island that Lorri developed her love of working with teens and felt God calling her to further her education in the area of teaching. She then transferred to Cedarville University in Ohio and graduated from there with her Bachelor of Arts and Ohio teacher's certificate.
Upon returning to Canada, she was immediately offered a position with Public Works Canada in London, Ontario and worked there for five years, during which time she married and later resigned from the position upon expecting her first child. Several years later, Lorri decided to return to her first love of teaching and was immediately hired by the Middlesex Board of Education (now Thames Valley) to work as an occasional teacher at both the intermediate and secondary levels. She continued in this position for six years and eventually was hired by the Academy as a part time teacher in 1996. The next year, she moved to a full-time position, teaching grade 7 and remained at the school for the next ten years teaching both grade 7 and grade 8.
Lorri took one year off to work again as an occasional teacher for the Thames Valley Board of Education, as well as spend more time with her family. She returned to the Academy in March of that same school year, feeling rested and having renewed enthusiasm to once again be involved in a ministry with teens and to be a part in building a solid Christian foundation to prepare Christian youth for the years ahead in their secondary education.
