Rebecca was raised in and around London in a loving Christian family and accepted Christ as her Saviour at a young age. She always knew that she wanted to pursue teaching and imagined how she could share God’s love with the children she would someday teach. God molded Rebecca’s heart during her high school years. Through her love of reading, God taught her to seek Him first in her life. In 2007, Rebecca followed God to Peru on a short term missions trip where her commitment to living a life worthy of her calling increased exponentially. In 2009, she travelled to Guatemala with the same group, this time as a student mentor.
Rebecca attended Brescia University College from 2007 to 2011 and graduated, with honours, with her BA in English and French. She spent a year at Nipissing University in North Bay to complete her BEd. In 2012, a month after graduating, she married her husband, Jon. Rebecca worked for the Thames Valley District School Board as a supply teacher for a year before being hired by LCA in 2013. She has taught grade 4, junior kindergarten, and has taught grade 3 since 2018. She considers it a privilege to be able to be part of the discipleship of young men and women as part of her job. She has seen God’s sovereign hand guiding her career and providing for her family.
Rebecca lives in London with her husband Jon, and children, Parker and Clara. She attends Stoney Creek Baptist Church where she ministers on the worship team and in children’s church.
