Steve grew up in the small southwestern Ontario town of Wingham. In high school, Steve enjoyed a variety of sports including badmintion, volleyball, basketball, golf, and baseball. After graduating from high school, he attended Wilfrid Laurier University and graduated in 1989 with a degree in Business Administration. He then moved to London where he worked in the insurance industry for over five years. Feeling the call of God to a teaching ministry, Steve attended Althouse College in London and completed his teaching certification in 1995.

He was offered a position at The Christian Academy in September of 1995.  Steve enjoys the fulfillment of seeing children grow in their knowledge and instruction of the Lord.

Steve lives just outside of London with his wife Judith and their children Andrew, Christine, Adam, and Caleb. They are involved in various ministries at West London Alliance Church.
