    Hello new grade 7s,

A new school year brings with it new people, new subjects, new clothes and new experiences.  I am so excited to be experiencing these things with you.  I am looking forward to Teen Ranch, watching  you play sports, and seeing you accomplish much in your classes.  You have been given such a great opportunity to show your fellow classmates, teachers, and parents what you are capable of!  May the Lord bless you this year as you seek to live for Him!  Let's have a wonderful year!

Please let me know below what you are excited about this year.

    Your fellow adventurer,
    Miss Bird

David is a boy who has spent his whole life in a labour camp. He is twelve years old and and he really does think a lot because that is one of the only things he can do! I also think that David is very lonely but also brave when he decided that he would try to escape. I find that he is smart at times but not so much in others. David had a friend once and this friend was a father-like figure and he had died so now David is alone but he has been diligent in his travels.

I think David is maybe 12 or 13 because he wasn't old enough to work at the camp. I also think David is very fit because he could run every night and that sounds very hard. Also I think David is brave because if the guards saw David running away they could have shot him down!

Who is David, David is about 12 and he has been living in a concentration camp in Eastern Europe for most of his life. He has never been in the outside wourld. I would say that David is obedient and smart. David is also has no living parents so Joannas(a character in the book) raised him. I think David is strong because he has been on a long journey so far.

What I think David is like, I think that David is very brave because he had the guts to run from a labor camp, and he could be shot at anytime. If the watch towers light went on David he would be dead. Well, David was raised in the labor camp, and made to do anything that his masters wanted him to do. The boy who raised David had a heart attack and died, so after that no one cared or loved him. David can not swim, but he can run very well, also David knows how to use a compass.

I think David is a board kid,who can have fun but just doesn't. I also can tell that he doesn't have have very good clothes,he is also 12 years old and I think would have brown eyes and hair i suspect that he is very dirty. I think that he's a bit lost because he doesn't know his parents, country or what to eat or what will kill him, I think if he could and knew how he would play sports and games and have fun!

What is David like? In school, we are starting to read a book called I am David. The main character, David, is a twelve year old boy who grew up in a labor camp. He has dark green eyes and matted brown hair. He is not very trusting with other people but, if given instructions, can follow them well. Although he is faced with many challenges in the book, he is very persistent and does not fail to get to his destination. In conclusion, I believe David has a driving spirit to focus on the tasks at hand and to find freedom outside of the camp.

This school year, I am excited for quite a few things. For one, I am pretty excited about our algebra math unit that is coming up soon. I am happy about it because I love algebra. Secondly I am excited for the exams that we go through during the ending weeks of school. I am happily preparing for this because these exams will be the first ones I have ever taken on in my life! Finally I am excited about this year's March Break. I am very excited about this because we get two weeks to enjoy this year!

This year I am looking forward to having a lot of fun and growing closer to God.

Two of the most important things that I am focusing on this year are my grades and my relationship with God. I hope to get straight A's in at least 1 term and grow closer to God. I am really excited for Teen Ranch this year. I also hope to try out for all the sports teams I can (except for cross country) and I hope I can make them all.

This year in Grade 7 I am looking forward to playing the trumpet, taking gym, being back stage for the plays that we do, and all the field trips. In music I am looking forward to playing the trumpet and learning new songs. I'm also looking forward to playing in the band. I can't wait for gym because I love playing all the sports and I especially am looking forward to dodge ball. I think that playing on the senior sports teams will be fun but hard. Because there are a lot of good sports teams we will face. The whole time I have been in school. I've always wanted to help back stage for the school plays. I would like to be on the electrical staff or help set up and take it down. I think that Grade 7 will be a great year and that every one will have a lot of fun this year.

I am so excited for this year these are the things i am interested in. This year i am excited for our field trips especially Teen Ranch and the year end field trip. I am also very excited for art because I am very creative and love art.The thing I am most eager to do in art is painting.I am also interested for history, science and geography. The reason I am interested in these things are because I think they will be interesting learning about what the earth used to be like a hundred years ago, and what happened during the world wars were like. I think it will be interesting to learn more about the countries of the world and how energy works. so those are the things I am most eager to learn about in grade seven. It will be a great year!!!!!!!!

One of things that I want for this year is more field trips. Last year we had just a few field trips but I would like to have much more than a few. Some reasons are that they can be fun and educational. It's a win win because kids like that it's fun and teachers want it most of all to be educational. For those reasons I conclude that in grade seven we should have lots of field trips this year.

What I'm looking forward to this year is Track and Field because in my old school all i did was RUN! In Track and Field last year i got 3rd place in 100 meter sprint. I love running because it reminds me of my cousin Evelyn when we used run around the camp ground. I love in Gym when we run around the field. And thats what I'm excited for this year!

This year, I expect to have a fair amount of homework. we should also have a balance of play and work to do our best this year. Our teacher, Ms. Bird, is very nice and kind. I should have good grades and try my best to succeed. In conclusion, to promote a positive work environment, we should focus on our work.
